Mt. Liberty News
I hope it’s been a great week for everyone, things are going good in our little community. Everyone is starting to feel better from the crud that’s been going around.
Friday night I went to Christmas in the Valley with my youngest, Emily, and we had fun as always. We took some great pictures. Emily’s birthday was Saturday, so we had a little cookout at the house. It was fun and I can’t believe she’s 17.
I wasn’t able to make it to church Sunday. I’m not sure why, I wasn’t feeling good and was expecting my mother in law to visit. Rossalan took notes for me. Bro Grant brought a great sermon that I will attach:
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
• Condemned- sentenced to a particular punishment, particularly death;
• Wages are the payment of what we earned;
• Our sin had earned us death. Our sins have serious consequences when it comes to God because our sins is what separated us from Him. Our sin doesn’t earn us a trip to heaven, it earns us a spiritual death.
Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
• We are all condemned to the death penalty spiritually;
• It’s not how good you are or act, it’s Jesus Christ that saves us from the condemnation to come;
• Our sin is serious business when it comes to God;
• Jesus died for our sins and relieved all of us believers from our spiritual death;
Romans 8:1 – Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
• There is no condemnation for you anymore because of what Jesus did for us.
I’m really grateful for Rossalan taking notes when I’m not able to be there. We’re getting ready for Christmas and I look forward to spending fellowship time with my church family during the holidays.
I hope you all have a great rest of the week. Remember Jesus is the true meaning. So many people get stressed out this time of year. It’s not about what you get or what you spend, the ultimate gift has already been given. If you’re looking for a home church, we welcome you to Mt Liberty. Services start at 11 a.m.
