Christopher Paul Gossett
WATER VALLEY – Christopher Paul Gossett, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Dec. 14, 2024, at the age of 55. Born in Water Valley, Chris lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys that brought light to those around him. He was known for his gentle spirit and infectious joy, brightening the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. As a talented technician in the telecommunications industry, he approached his work with pride and dedication, ensuring that those he served felt valued and understood.
However, it was his ability to make people smile and create a sense of warmth that truly defined him.
Chris is survived by his beloved spouse, Mattie Gossett, and their daughter, Lindley Gossett, who were the lights of his life. Chris also leaves behind his siblings, Andy Gossett (Brandye) and Kerri Lynn Wilbourn (Brandon), both of Oxford;, as well as his supportive stepfather, Steve McCain (Gretchen). He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennifer Dale Hughes, whose memory remains in the hearts of their loved ones.
Chris was an animal lover, adored by his beloved bulldogs: Winston, Willow Grace, and Waylon. They brought him happiness and companionship, embodying his love for the simple things in life.
In honor of Chris’s life, a memorial service will be held at a future date, where friends and family will come together to celebrate the legacy of a man who was truly one of a kind. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jeffrey Allen Thomas
SARDIS – Jeffrey “Jeff” Allen Thomas, 60, of Sardis passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024.
Jeff liked the simpler things in life; fishing, camping, hunting, or anything pertaining to the outdoors. He was man with a huge heart for animals, always bringing home critters and caring for them.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Linda Sapp; a daughter, Andrea Crouch (Kevin); granddaughters, Bailey Thomas and Alyson Thomas; a great-grandson, Hayden; a sister, Vickie Byrd (Jerry); and his mother, Carolyn Kachelein.
Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 16, from 1 to 2 p.m. with the service immediately following at Dickins Funeral Home. Bro. Hal Johnson officiated. Lifetime friends, the Davis family, served as pallbearers.
