Floyd Fisk, Sr.
COFFEEVILLE –– Floyd Fisk, Sr. of Coffeeville passed away peacefully Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his beloved farm. Floyd Sr. was 90 years and 11 days young.
Floyd Sr. was born December 25, 1934, and raised in Yalobusha County and in Grenada. He was the only boy in a family of six sisters. His sisters fondly called him “Bo” or “Bit.”
Floyd Sr. retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Memphis. He also had worked at Westbrook Auto as an auto mechanic, and served in the US Army.
The funeral service was held January 14 at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park – Midtown. Floyd Sr. is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mamie A. Fisk; two sons Floyd Fisk, Jr. (Greta) of Anchorage, Alaska and Terry Wawyne Fisk (Sherry) of Olive Branch; one daughter, Pamela Fisk Beckham (Billy) of Olive Branch; six grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Nell Daughtry of Collierville, Tenn., Judy Stamper of Corpus Christi, Texas and Claudette White of Corpus Christi, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. One of his surviving sisters, Judy Stamper, died January 10, five days after her brother.
Floyd Sr. is predeceased by his baby sister, Bonnie Fisk; his mother, Alberta Chapman Fisk; his father, Clarence Floyd Fisk; sisters Bernice Dunlap and Edith Koonce; and a great grandson Rylee James Fisk.
