Mt. Liberty News
We have finally made it to the end of January and it sure seems like this is the longest month of the year. Things have been good in our little community. I hope you all are doing well. We don’t really have much going on right now. We did have our monthly music night Sunday night. We really appreciate everyone who sings in praise of our Lord. Y’all know it’s my favorite thing to do. I love music. There’s something about it that just brings in the Spirit.
Bro. Grant Coffey brought another wonderful, much-needed sermon Sunday morning. It was about waiting on God. Waiting is a big part of our lives. We wait in line at the store, at a red light, at the doctor’s office, and so on. We spend a lot of time waiting. As Christians, we also wait on God. The question is, why do we wait so patiently on so many things, but we tend to be impatient when waiting on the Lord?
Our text was in Isaiah 40:28-31. Some of us may be waiting on God to answer a prayer right now. We may have asked God to help our finances, our families, our maybe our health. Isaiah is saying that God has an everlasting nature. He does not get tired. God is always with us. We have to be patient. His time is not our time. He knows what we need and what we’re praying for. Waiting on God also has its benefits. Our text tells us that those that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (v.31).
While we’re waiting on the Lord, He will strengthen us with His Holy Spirit. We will persevere. Trust on Him. And when He answers your prayers, thank Him.
I know this sermon is bound to touch someone. We all have problems and pray. God loves you and He is working for you. Don’t give up. Be patient. I felt this one too my core – I’m a very impatient person and have often wondered if God hears me. Time is different to God. I know He will provide me with all I need when I need it. And He knows my needs better than I do.
I would like to ask for prayers for our Breeze. She’s been having some medical issues and we’re praying for her. And always, I pray for each of you. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us. Services start at 11.
