Mt. Liberty News
I hope it’s been a good week for everyone. We’re getting ready for Easter coming up next month. It’s such a wonderful time to be a Christian. This is one of those times that bring us hope for eternity. We always have hope, but knowing the sacrifice Jesus made for us is humbling.
I have a poem I want to share written by Bro. Dave Richardson. He came to join us during a hard time in his life and has such a talent. I think it’s meant to be shared.
I Pray
I wake up in the morning and greet a brand new day.
Before I go out on my path, I take some time to pray.
O God, You are my father and Jesus in my Lord.
Thy love and all thy mercies are my shield and my sword.
Before you I am humble and if I go astray,
I feel your hand upon me, you guide me on my way.
So as I walk past others whose hearts have hate and sin,
I only look into my own, to feel the love within.
So now my day is over, and as I kneel to pray,
I thank You oh, my Lord, for giving me this blessed day.
And so it’s time to end this day the best way that I can,
To say “I love you Jesus.” And in God’s name I pray. Amen
Bro. Grant Coffey brought an amazing message Sunday morning. We started in Galatians 5:19-21. Everyone wants the truth unless it’s about them. Paul gives us insight and truth about the people of the church.
Paul also gives us a thorough list of things some of us may be guilty of. Paul is talking to the church, not the lost. Paul sent another message to the church of Corinth in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. These are things we need to heed. This is the truth about us.
Then we read 1 Corinthians 6:11. We have been washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of God. Jesus died for us all. He died for the unrighteous. We all deserve eternal punishment. We deserve to be separated from God. But Christ has us a path to God because He paid the price.
Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” The truth is, there are those that will not see Heaven. If you’ve been saved, be grateful for it.
Baylor Shaw had a birthday this past week. He is growing so much. We’re very happy to get you watch him grow up.
Billy and I celebrated 17 years of marriage last Saturday. It’s been a great ride and I’m looking forward to many more years. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us at Mt. Liberty. Services start at 11.
