My neighbor, JR Dukes has been catching the daylights out of some big ole Bass at Grenada Lake. And speaking of Bass, the Tillatoba Annual Bass Tournament is Saturday, May 3, starting at 1 p.m. at the Hartley Farm, 1813 County Rd. 2, Tillatoba, MS, 38961.
Phil and Ginger Harrison had a good day at Pine Grove celebrating the graduates Sunday. Hayden Eubanks from Sylva Rena Baptist church delivered a great message. Phil and Ginger’s son, Jake Harrison led the music, and their other son, Josh Harrison, did the special music. Ginger, your mamma (Martha Box) said it was so good, she almost stood up clapping and saying those are my grandboys!
Well, I have had a sick husband all week, reports Deborah McCool. Her husband, Tommy, has had a cold and is feeling terrible. He is still going to work, but sick. Saturday, Deborah went to Southaven with her daughter, Angela Dukes and son, P.J., and Deborah’s granddaughter, Caitlyn Beavers. They did some shopping as Angela was looking for a new dinning room set. They had a wonderful time, hope to get to go again soon.
Martha Box had a great worship service at Pine Grove Baptist Church Sunday. It was a celebration service for graduates Haley Ferguson, Brantley Parker, Colby Adams, Josh Harrison, Jayden McCormick, Jacob Medders, Parker Ward and Dustin Winter. Dustin graduated from kindergarten.
And what a biblically spiritual message shared by Hayden Eubanks!
Diane Dukes said she heard a good sermon Sunday by Bro. Rickey Harris, He preached from the book of Romans. It was just peaceful in church. Logan Rose, Diane’s great grandson, got stung Sunday.
He said, “That’s the worst day in my life.” Logan had never been stung before.
Diane enjoyed visiting her great grandkids. Haven Rose was busy telling Diane about her other grandmother, Tree Tree, hurt her arm.
“Braxden Dukes and John Luke Rose made me feel special today by sitting with me at church and acting like young men,” said Diane.
My world has been so tied to the FOOT surgery, says Martha Box. These past four months have taken a toll on her but she is getting better. She is walking about the house carefully with her cane.
Martha has been out of the house a few times lately. She enjoyed a great lunch at the Corner Store Wednesday and Thursday and a good visit with friends and her daughter, Candy. She also had coffee at the truck stop with the boys and her son, Ben Box. Sweet visit with Sheryn Goode. Her brother, Jesse, brought her a great meal he cooked Friday.
“While sitting in the retina clinic last Wednesday I saw Patty Rowland. We go to the same optometrist. Funny how you live around people and don’t see them until you end up in a doctor’s office,” Martha added.
