Debbie and Tommy McCool went to Leland Saturday afternoon to visit Tommy’s sisters, Patsy Welch and Dorothy Utz. His brother, James McCool, came from Philadelphia to visit also.
Sunday, Debbie cooked a big birthday dinner and cookies for Kimberly’s birthday.
On Sunday, your writer’s visitors were Brad, Frankie and Bradley Holliday. Bradley slept most of our visiting time because he stayed up until 3 a.m. at DNOW with Emmanuel Baptist Church. Also visiting for dinner were my daughter Donna Garripoli and son Timothy Sullivan. Our friend A.W. Taylor visited in the afternoon. Roseanne, Rose and her son, John Luke, also popped in for a visit.
“It’s been a great week,” says Martha Box, “with the love of Jesus all about. Grateful for visits with brothers and sister Joyce Stevens. Enjoyed the lunches we had together. A whole lotta reminiscences going on!”
Martha also reported a wonderful visit at Oakland Baptist Church Wednesday night. Bro. Scarborough preached the revival with great spirit.
“And talk about spiritual singing! Wow, what a choir. Loved, loved, loved it!” she added.
Martha took Joyce to Oxford Friday for a doctor’s appointment. It wore both of them out so much they ate ice cream for supper! LOL.
“Just had lunch at home with Ronnie, Jesse, Joyce, Angie and Troy Waldo. They loved my ‘what’s in the house’ beef soup,” Martha said, “and Joyce’s ever-so-good jalapeño cornbread!”
Celebrating birthdays this week are Ginger Patton on the 8th, Brent Anderson on the 9th, Ann Ragon, Gracie Beardain, Bo Bickerstaff and Paul McNamee on the 10th, Jacque Dickey, Billy Jack Williamson and Kathy Bloodworth on the 11th, Sheila O’Bryant on the 12th, Delia Arbuckle on the 13th, and John Adam Robinson, Samy McCracken, Randy Hoop and my sweet sister Ann Hudson on the 14th. I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating!
Thought for the day: If someone is laughing, laugh with them; if they’re singing, sing with them; and if they’re working, leave them alone. You don’t want to break their concentration.
I have a great recipe this week for all of you football fans.
