Police Search For Leads In Armed Robbery

WATER VALLEY  – At press-time Friday police were continuing to search for leads in an armed robbery reported on West Lee Street Wednesday afternoon. Water Valley Police Chief A.J. Hernandez reported that multiple suspects pulled into the victim’s yard around 3:30 p.m. They got out and approached the victim, who was outside, and threatened him with a weapon. 

Hernandez reported the suspects left with more than 40 guns, cash and other items from inside the victim’s residence during the robbery. The chief also said the victim was not injured, but was shook up during the ordeal. Officers spent almost an hour at the scene, collecting evidence that will be sent to the crime lab. 

Sheriff Lance Humphreys also reported a burglary on County Road 214 the same day is likely connected to the armed robbery. The sheriff said no one was home when this house was hit and items reported missing included electronics, jewelry and other items.

“Evidence has been gathered that is a strong indicator that we are looking for the same suspects in the two incidents,” Humphreys said.
