Art Crawl Is This Saturday
Linda Scott and Becky Tatum worked Monday at the Adams House, located at 314 Panola Street. One of 17 stops on this year’s Art Crawl, this home is filled with fiber art from five of our own Water Valley artists. You will also be treated to an Adams’ family favorite, painter Lisa Ridditt Paris’ joyful oils (see pictures on table).

WATER VALLEY – The 9th Annual Art Crawl is this weekend! Are You Ready?
The Arts crawl is a free family friendly event from 5:30 to 9 p.m., followed by the After Party at the Yalobusha Brewery from 9 to 11 p.m.
There are so many interesting things to see in this year’s Crawl! Plan your route and timing to be sure you get to see it all (see map on Page 14 of the Herald.)
Begin your Art Crawl at one of the three Water Valley Galleries, the Lee House or Wesley House. You may expect to see young, emerging artists, well-established artists, and artists from our past in this year’s Crawl. Many of the venues in this year’s crawl have their own theme as listed below:
Theme: Photography in the American South since World War II
A collaboration of the three Water Valley Art Galleries: Bozart’s, Yalo Studio, and Amelia presents.
Theme: Heritage Art
The Lee House at 114 McLarty Circle offers a rare opportunity to view paintings on loan from private collections from many of our Water Valley families.
Theme: Very Special Offerings
Wesley House 603 N. Main – All 11 artists at the Wesley house have something special to offer you. Ranging from Bill Beckwith’s sculptures to Reiko’s music, to artists working in glass, cubism, drawings, and so much more. These talented artists are not to be missed!
Theme: Art & Garden Collection
Anne and David Burke welcome you to their home at 127 Blount by sharing works from their wide collection of artists including three generations of the Walter Anderson family and David’s works. Also Anne and David invite you to spend some time exploring three exceptional gardens.
Theme: Community of ART & Artists
20 South Main is a Valley community for ART and Artists with the upstairs apartments and studio spaces filled with creative young artists living and working in the Valley.
Theme: Textiles, of Course!
YaloRun Textiles 211 N. Main Street – Jo Hamilton grew up in a family of knitters and crocheters and was very familiar with yarn crafts from a very young age. Jo paints with yarn. Jo’s large scale work uses knotted yarn to crochet portraits, cityscapes, and more. Very talented artist that you MUST see.
Theme: All in the Family
Brown-David Home 303 Panola St. – Adrian Brown-David began drawing young and was consistently nurtured by her family, just as she now nurtures her children’s talents and love of art. You will want to see the scope of this family’s work.
Theme: Water Valley Fiber Art + Oils
Adams House 314 Panola – The Adams house is filled with fiber art from five of our own WV artists. You will also be treated to an Adams’ family favorite, painter Lisa Ridditt Paris’ joyful oils.
Theme: Iconic Mississippi Folk Art
Bullock House, 118 Dupuy – Jason Heavnor and his wife Amanda Heavnor , AKA J-Man and ittybittyhippiechic, of Toccopola along with a few good friends will fill Bullock House with lots of MS Folk Art and music by the duo The Kites.

Bushel and a Peck 428 N. Main – Experience the soft-opening of our newest coffee and wine bar, acoustic music by the Duo Band playing on the patio until dusk followed by film shorts showcasing The Valley and her people.
Downtown Inn & Coffee Parlor 405 N. Main, owner, Kira Goodballet, features the work of another favorite and talented Valley Artist, Bill Warren of Bozarts Gallery. Kira is offering samples of her favorite tasty treats and free fresh brewed coffee (while it lasts) and acoustic music.
Be sure to stroll by The B.T.C. Old Fashioned Grocery at 302 N. Main where a Window Showcase featuring our youngest artists’ works created by the attendees of the WVAC Summer Art and Culinary Camp are displayed. Mis-Fits owner Morgan McCollom opens our famous After Party at the Yalobusha Brewery with a Fashion Show, our third in nine years.
Trusty Diner at 205 N. Main – Lawton Gafford opened the Trusty Diner to celebrate Water Valley and his family heritage. Exhibiting at the Trusty are artists Tiffeny Owens and her 13-year-old daughter, Laila. These two ladies are Valley favorites as are musicians Jon McLeod and Kevin Guyer playing in the Trusty Diner Courtyard.
Yalobusha Brewery After Party – Not to be forgotten, is the now famous Water Valley Arts Council’s After Party from 9:00-11:00. Kicking off the party is the MisFits Fashion Show. You may look forward to good music, fresh speciality HeartBreak Coffee, craft beer, food trucks, good music and fun with friends old and new!
