Judge McClure Is Speaker At Historical Society Meeting
The Yalobusha County Historical Society will meet Thursday October 18, at 2 p.m. in its headquarters the former Coffeeville Presbyterian Church. Circuit Court Judge Jimmy McClure is the speaker and his topic is the different courthouses in Panola, Tate, Tallahatchie, and Yalobusha counties. Refreshments are served afterwards, and visitors are welcome.
Pets Will Be Blessed At Episcopal Church
The Episcopal Church of Nativity, located on Main Street, Water Valley, will have a St. Francis Day of Blessing of Pets October 20, beginning at 10 a.m. Dogs must be on leashes, with cats, hamsters, etc. in carriers, and fish in water.
Bell Family Reunion Is Oct. 21
The annual James D. Bell Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, October 21, at George P. Cossar State Park. Families and friends are invited to attend.
Annual Christmas Parade Will Roll Down Main On December 1
The annual Water Valley Christmas Parade, “Christmas In The Valley,” is scheduled Saturday, December 1, starting at 1 p.m. The rain date will be the following Saturday if needed. All churches, businesses, factories, school groups and individuals are urged to participate in the annual tradition.

Identity Theft Prevention Program Scheduled At Oakland Library
BancorpSouth will present an Identity Theft Prevention program on Monday, October 29, at 10 a.m. at the Oakland Public Library. The public is invited to attend this free program open to all ages. If you’re interested in learning more about how to protect your identity, this program will be of interest to you. Light refreshments will be served. School Board Meets Oct. 22
The Water Valley School Board of Trustees have scheduled a school board meeting on Monday, October 22, at 6:30 in the Central Office on Market Street. The public is invited to attend.
VFW Will Have Friday Bingo, Saturday Dance Is Cancelled
Bingo will be played at VFW Post 4100 Friday night, October 19. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 7. There will be no dance on Saturday, October 20.
County’s Democratic Party Meets Saturday
The Yalobusha Democratic Party invites all Democrats to come out on Saturday, October 20, to their annul General Meeting, to be held at 10 a.m. in the Courthouse at Coffeeville. You presence will be most appreciated and refreshments will be served.
Private Applicator Training Is November 9 In Coffeeville
The Mississippi State Extension Service will host a private applicators training at the Multi-purpose building in Coffeeville on November 9th at 1:00 pm. The cost for this class is $20. In addition to the Private applicators class there will also be a Sprayer Calibration class.
