How beautiful was the snow we had late Thursday night and early Friday morning. Harvey Darby was offering ski lift rides pretty cheap.
Love and sympathy is extended to the Nellie Coleman Kerr Ward family of Grenada. Nellie passed away Friday, January 10, at her residence. Nellie was a sweet lady with a beautiful smile that would light up a room when she saw you. She was always concerned about the person she was talking to and how they were doing. Rest in peace sweet lady.
Diane Dukes said Bro. Rickey preached a good sermon Sunday about repentance.
Diane’s cousin, Linda, who came to visit over the summer called and told her that her daughter, Kisten, had a baby girl. They named her Maxie Grace. She was born January 7 and weighed seven pounds, five ounces. They live in Georgia. Kisten and Scott said they were glad that was over. No more children!
Kisten, your writer said that three more times after I had my first born.
Joanna Pullen turned four years old on January 11 she called Terri Dukes, her grandmother, and said, “Where my present, Sam?” Anna, Joanna and Andrew Pullen and her aunt Holly, along with Haven Rose and Waylon Jr. had lunch at No Way Jose. Joanna will have her birthday party late because of the bad weather. It will be January 26 at Jolly Jumpers in Grenada.
Missed my coffee buddies for a long week, says Martha Box. When Martha and family got off the interstate at Tillatoba, she Facebooked “HONEY I’M HOME.”
Lol, Martha had been in the hospital in Jackson for foot surgery and was happy to get home.
Martha’s son, Ben along with Jamie and grandson, Josh, were at the back door and got her when they landed.
‘Great care ever since,” Martha added. “Sister Joyce, Marissa, Addie and Brother Jesse has made this day easier. I had not eaten in a week, but they are feeding me so good now,” Martha added about her caretakers.
Martha’s daughter Ginger, along with Phil and Josh made her happy as she settled in Saturday night.
We all are proud to know you are home and resting better, Martha.
“She’s glad to be home,” Martha’s daughter, Ginger, also reported. “Still in a lot of pain but she’s adjusting well. Phil and I enjoyed Josh singing in church today. He went back to college Sunday night. We will miss him.”

I think Lynn Marceleno was disappointed that they didn’t get as much snow as we did on our side of town. She said we couldn’t play in our snow. It barely covered the ground, was slushy and then it froze up.
Sheryn Goode is like me, staying inside staying warm. Oh, one other things Sheryn reported, her good, good neighbor, Pat Darby, brought over some homemade vegetable soup and some cornbread.
“It was really appreciated and it certainly hit the spot,” said Sheryn.
Happy birthday to Max Lindley and Kerri Elizabeth Harris on the 15th; Trevor Croy, Rachel McCulla and Jimmy Dees celebrate the 16th; Jere Lyn Prigmore and Cindy Traywick Banton share a birthday on the 17th; Linda Darby and Danny Jackson celebrate on the 18th; and Bobby Cook and Winky Chambers celebrate on the 20th. May you all have a blessed birthday!
Thought for the day… I need to start eating more healthy, but first I need to eat all the junk food in the house so it’s not there to tempt me anymore.
