Our princess, Haven Rose Dukes and another little princess and Haven’s cousin, Joanna Pullen, were ready for their very first “daughter-daddy” dance at school.

The frufru sequined dresses and the first set of high heels had two little princess set on “go.” Their little wrist corsage’s just set their outfits off so, watch out dance floor at North Delta school!

I’ve just got to brag on our daughter-in-law, Brandy Deck, and her mother, Teresa Dooley Bailey, for being nominated as a Top 5 Interior Designer in Hometown Magazine. The name of their business is Southern Twist.

“To say we are shocked is an understatement!” Brandy said. “There are countless people responsible for helping us along the way at Southern Twist Interiors!”

I have seen some of their work and they do a beautiful job.

Martha Box said she is still sassy and kicking, but it is still on one foot!

“I am a bit tired of this foot-elevated-life. But hey, I am planning on a real big kick off in a few weeks,” Martha said.
Martha said she is “Happy Wealthy and Wise by our Lord’s grace.”

“I am still blessed with great care from all my family and friends. Sister Patty landed here from Texas. So good to see her and she plans a long stay. Brother Jesse Wortham brought her back when he went to Texas,” Martha added.

Martha also reported a great visit from daughter Ginger, Phil and the boys this Sunday. Diane Hill sent her a lovely cake and fruit sauce that made her smile.

Martha, you are gonna be spoiled rotten before this is over with but that’s alright, you deserve it.

Milton Harper had a little scare Saturday morning when his defibrillator shocked him. He ended up in the Oxford hospital, but after a few days of tests and treatments he’s doing good!

Diane Dukes went to Greenville Saturday to see her sister, Ellen Parker. Ellen’s birthday is the 17th of February and she will turn 81. Kathy Dukes and Terri Dukes went with Diane and took her a birthday cake. They had lunch down there with them and then stopped in Greenwood and did some shopping. She even brought home some hot tamales.

“Everybody wanted some so I brought them home. They always enjoy eating them,” Dianne said.

Diane has been taking therapy for her hip and she is feeling so much better since she started.
Joey and Katelyn McClanahan of Jackson and Shelby Dewitt visited Bobby Joe McClanahan and family during the weekend.

Deborah McCool said they are doing good. She had three grand kids sick with the flu last week but she think they are getting better finally. Tommy McCool finally got his old employee back and can start getting his Sundays off from now on. Deborah and Tommy got up Sunday morning and went to breakfast in Batesville like they used to do, did a little Walmart shopping and got back home in time for church. Afterwards they were lazy and just did nothing the rest of the day.

I love those kind of days, Deborah.

Happy 61st anniversary to William and Rebecca McCullar, who celebrated Friday, February 7.

Happy birthday to Wendi Pettit and Sawyer Grace Bowman, who celebrate the 12th; Sweet Robin Laster Harrington and Billy Nelson celebrate the 13th; Dylan Jeffords on the 14th; Rose Brown and Billy Brassel on the 15th; Agnes Lane Porfilio the 16 th; and Peggy Bailey, Doris Hoop and PJ Dukes share a birthday on the 17th. I hope you all have a great day celebrating your special day!

Thought for the day…

“It is useless to try to hold a person to anything he says while he’s madly in love, drunk, or running for office.”
