Grand Jury Report

A grand jury in the Second Judicial District in Water Valley handed down indictments on nine true bills and a grand jury in the First Judicial District in Coffeevillle handed down indictments on seven true bills. Both grand juries met on Dec. 10. The indictments remain sealed until the accused is served by law enforcement. Indictments that have been served are:

• Winfred Earl Logan was indicted for four counts of the sale of a controlled substance. According to the indictment, Logan purchased alleged methamphetamine from a confidential informant four times in 2023 – Feb. 10, Feb. 16, Feb. 24, and March 2.

• Leroy Boles was indicted for one count of DUI – 4th offense, a felony; and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Both counts stem from a traffic stop conducted by the Water Valley Police Department on Dec. 22, 2022. Boles has previously been convicted of three DUI.

Boles was also indicted as a habitual offender, as he was previously convicted of four felonies in Yalobusha. The prior convictions are sale of cocaine in 1995, domestic violence third offense in 2000 and two counts of sale of methamphetamine.
