Mt. Liberty News
By Melissa Brooks

I hope everyone is having a great week. Things are still pretty slow right now. Usually we pick back up pretty heavy close to Easter.

We had planned to have a Valentines get together Saturday but rescheduled due to the weather coming in. We weren’t sure when it would come in so we’re going to meet next Saturday. It seems winter decided to come back in with a vengeance. The temperatures are too much for me right now.

Y’all know how I prefer warmer weather. We’re getting to the end zone though – not much longer and it’ll be warming up.

Bro. Grant Coffey delivered an amazing message Sunday. It was something every Christian needs to hear. We get many warnings throughout the Bible.

The one we’re focusing on from the sermon starts in Romans 14:9-12. In verse 12 it says, “every one of us shall give an account of himself to God.”

In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Paul writes that we will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Now, our salvation is not being questioned. We can’t work for that. Jesus took care of that for us. But, we will be judged on our works, good or bad. It’s accountability.

Finally, we turned to Matthew 12:36-37. We will give an account for everything we’ve said. We will be justified our condemned. We need to take responsibility for the things we see and do. We can’t go through life saying and doing whatever we want and not expect to get called on it. Thinking that you’re right all the time leads to unforgiven sin. God won’t forgive our sins unless we confess them (1 John 1:9). We don’t have a problem taking the blessings from God but w e do have a problem talking accountability. Be a good person. Be kind. Tithe the right way. Don’t cause problems. Do something good for the Lord. Do the right thing because we will all stand before Christ.

I pray you all have a great rest of your week. Stay warm. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us. Services start at 11.
