Lady Devils Softball Improve To 2-2
The Lady Devils Softball team Notched Solid Back-to Back Performances To Defeat Hickory Flat And Houlka
On Monday, Water Valley scored 12 runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Hickory Flat 17-5. Senior Belle Belcher led the way with 2 hits and 2 RBI, scoring 3 runs. Multiple players, including Junior Mariah Wilson and Freshman Bethany Pryor notched solid plate appearances and collected multiple hits, runs and stolen bases.
Senior Tryn Walton started the game and had a solid outing surrendering three hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking nine. Adams appeared in relief striking out three.
On Tuesday, the Lady Devils continued their solid play. Freshman Bethany Adams collected three hits in three at bats, as the girls defeated Houlka 17-4. Adams tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the first inning.
Water Valley won in large part to the 14 runs in the third inning. Multiple Lady Devils (including Junior Kristaney Reed and Senior Tryn Walton) had solid plate appearances, collecting 7 hits with 4 extra base varieties and 14 stolen bases resulting in a solid offensive performance.
Sophomore Addy Douglas started for the Lady Devils and gave up one hit and four runs (one earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking two. Adams appeared in relief and notched 2 strikeouts.
Next up is Winona on Friday at Lady Devil Field and then traveling to Lake Cormorant on Saturday.
