WATER VALLEY – Social media influencer Kris Rotonda of Jordan’s Way will be in Water Valley on Thursday, April 17, to help raise funds to feed dogs housed at Second Chance Animal Alliance (SCCA). A national fundraiser for animal rescue operations, Jordan’s Way is on a mission to visit shelters in all 48 states in the continental United States. Volunteers with SCAA will host Rotonda at the shelter located at 11171 Hwy. 315 West for the livestream fundraiser that runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Facebook Live.
SCAA supporters in the community can join in the fundraiser by taking part in the games and activities during the livestream, watching and sharing the event on social media and donating funds to go toward the care of animals. Local businesses and organizations are also invited to get involved with matching opportunities.
Expect an evening filled with fun, laughter, and special moments as shelter employees and volunteers participate in activities like pies to the face, dunk tanks or challenges. Whether you can donate $5 or $500, every contribution makes a real difference in the lives of homeless animals. It’s a great way to give back, and you’ll be part of a community coming together to support a vital cause.
Rotonda founded Jordan’s Way after his shelter dog, Jordan, died from cancer. Jordan had been in a shelter for three-and-one-half years, and Rotonda made it his mission to honor her life by raising awareness for overlooked shelter animals. Rotonda finds rescue programs to visit through social media. When he arrives for a visit, Rotonda starts a Facebook Live event, using his large social media following to raise money for the organization.
The SCAA is still seeking volunteers to help take calls during the event. You can email the organization at secondchancewv.org to sign up. To join the livestream, visit SCAA’s Facebook page, Second Chance Animal Alliance, for the link.
