Union Cemetery operates on donations and we all want to be proud of what we are a part of. When you visit Union Cemetery you certainly should want the final resting place of your loved ones to be a place you can be proud of.
The maintenance and upkeep never stops. Please consider repairing the tombstones of your family or friends. Many of these are in a sad state and Union Cemetery is not responsible for monuments whether they have sunken, fallen over or have come apart. Some have toppled over onto the ground.
Grass cutting, weed eating and picking up flowers that have blown out of the vases onto the ground has to be done regularly. Everyone should want to be, and I hope does want to be, a part of the care of the cemetery. Therefore, will you please consider donating for the upkeep of the cemetery where your family and friends are buried? Donations can be mailed to: Lee Ann Howe, 8011 CR 154, Tillatoba, MS 38961. Checks are to be made out to: Union Cemetery Fund.
Happy belated Father’s Day to all you fathers. I hope all of you had a blessed and wonderful day with all your children and family. My husband, David, wanted chicken and dumplings and slaw so that’s what he got. Daughter Donna brought up a beautiful white cake with white icing. Brad and Frankie Holliday and son, Bradley, and Tim Sullivan joined us.

Ginger Harrison said they had a great day celebrating Phil on Father’s Day. Phil’s mother, Diane Hill made him a nice lunch and a red velvet cake. Of course it was all good.
Martha Box reported last week flew by so fast she felt winded just trying to keep up.
“I mean really, I just got up from my after church nap and here it is Sunday again! Sure hope I wore a different outfit as I walked in. Oh yeah I did church by Facebook last Sunday. LOL,” Martha said.
Martha did a little running around picking up a few things. She went by the Ole Corner Store for lunch several times and was fed well with the taco salad among her favorites.
“Thank you to Shantel, Marie, Candy and Mckenzie for such good cooking, service and fun lunches,” Martha added.
Martha is also so happy that both of her boys, Ben Box and Phil Harrison, are good fathers.
“Love and respect to all the great Father’s we know. The Greatest being our FATHER GOD!,” Martha said.
Tommy and Deborah McCool and their granddaughter, Caitlyn Beavers, went to Thunder on Water for a while Saturday. Deborah won a prize from the B100 house number game and got a $50 gift certificate from Dewayne’s Specialty Meats in Holcomb. Then went to the car show and looked at all the beautiful cars. Later Caitlyn and sister, Hannah. went back to ride a few rides and get funnel cakes.
Sunday, Deborah went to church and then she cooked chicken and dressing for Father’s Day for all the family. Worked in the yard later and then went to put fresh flowers on the graves on her mother’s, father’s and sister’s graves.
