Tillatoba News
I hope all of you are surviving this hot weather and drinking plenty of water, we all knew summer would finally arrive.
I would like to thank Scotty and Stephanie Chambers and Gary and Adam Chambers for rescuing David from a ditch he had fallen into while bush hogging in the pasture. They brought him home and put him to bed.
After they left, I got him up and put dry clothes on him. Thank-you to grandsons Junior and Waylon Dukes for coming to help finish more bush hogging and putting everything up. David is fine just sore as all get out, as they say.
Deborah McCool said they really didn’t do anything last weekend – yard work Saturday afternoon and took it easy after church Sunday. The kids – Jason, Kimberly, Caitlyn and Hannah visited for a while.
Martha Box was perking up Monday morning. She is walking better now after that surgery months ago. Martha expected to be weaned out of the boot. Her doctor gave a good report last week and she may be able to dance the Bop at next check up in three months.
Martha enjoyed a great visit from my handsome grandson, Josh, and his parents, Ginger and Phil, on Sunday.
Martha says she has been taste-testing a lot at the ole Corner Store lately.
“And it is all so good I am now having to work harder on my priss and figure. Lol,” she added.
Welcome back to Tillatoba, Little John Dukes and your bride, Darlene. They are my new, up-the-road-neighbors.
Sorry my news is short this week. Maybe folks will feel like getting out and doing things this week.
Happy birthday to Hunter Potts on the 23rd; my great niece, Laura Lee Beardain celebrates the 25th; John Adam Robinson and Ashton Langham on the 26th;, Tori Bowman and Bubba Dukes the 27th; and Breanna White on the 29th. May you all have a wonderful day celebrating your birthday!
Thought for the day…How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.
