Mt. Liberty News
I hope everyone had a wonderful week. Things have been great at Mt. Liberty. We had music night on Sunday, and everyone did a great job—it was an amazing evening! I love praise and worship; it ushers in the Spirit, and I always feel so much better afterward. The Spirit was certainly present Sunday. We shared communion and enjoyed a wonderful service.
Bro. Grant Coffey brought us a communion message. We began in Exodus 13:3–10, where God tells Moses to commemorate the Israelites’ deliverance from Egypt by eating unleavened bread. The Lord’s Supper, likewise, memorializes our deliverance from sin.
In Exodus 12:12–13, God instructed the Israelites to mark their doors with the blood of an unblemished lamb so they would be passed over during the plague. This was part of His covenant with His people. In the New Testament, Jesus gave the disciples wine to symbolize a new blood covenant.
1 Peter 1:18–19 tells us that we were redeemed by Christ’s blood—as of a lamb without spot or blemish.
We were bought back from the slavery of sin by the precious blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. Through Him, we have the promise of eternal life. This covenant is why we take communion.
We will have Vacation Bible School Wednesday, July 7 through Friday, July 9. We invite everyone to bring their children out for a great time—we have lots of fun planned! We hope to see you all there.
If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us. Services start at 11 a.m.
