Mt. Liberty News
By Melissa Brooks
I hope everyone has had a great week. Things have been going well at Mt. Liberty. We were blessed to see Bro. Dave baptized on Sunday, and we’re excited to see what God has in store for him.
I know many of you probably enjoyed the Watermelon Carnival over the weekend. I didn’t make it — it’s just too hot for me!
Bro. Grant Coffey brought a great message Sunday morning from 2 Peter 3:8-10. God promised that Jesus would return, and He is not slack in keeping His promise. Christ’s return will come like a thief in the night, and we must be prepared at all times. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:36-44, no one but the Father knows the date of His return. Our job is not to figure out when He’s coming but to be ready when He does.
In 2 Peter 3:13, we are told to look for a new heaven and a new earth. God reveals this to John in Revelation 21:1-3 — a new kingdom where He will dwell with us. God is not slow in fulfilling this promise; He is giving more time for the lost to be found, because He desires that all be saved.
I am praying for all the teachers and students as school gets underway. I still can’t believe Emily is a senior! We have a lot of fun things planned over the next couple of weeks and are excited about what’s ahead.
If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us. Sunday services begin at 11 a.m.
