Mt. Liberty News
I hope everyone has had a great week. Things have been good in our community. We’re going into our busy time and have a lot of things coming up. We’re getting ready for a fish fry and looking forward to that. I’ve been a very proud mom. My daughter, Emily, has been accepted to Ole Miss. She’s been really busy this year with dual credit classes. She’s handling it like a champ, though.
Bro. Grant Coffey brought us a great message starting in Romans 3:23. Have you ever found yourself in a predicament? We are born into a predicament. The predicament we find ourselves in is that “we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
We are told in Isaiah 59:2 that our iniquities separate us from God. We are born with a sinful nature. Without God, there is no grace, no mercy, no provision. There is only condemnation. The good news is that this predicament is fixable. God fixed it by sending us Jesus (John 3:16). Romans 5:8 tells us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus didn’t eradicate sin. He bridged the gap between us and God. He died our death. He gave our predicament a solution.
This was a wonderful sermon to hear given the events going on in our country right now. Jesus came so we might all be saved and have eternal life. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us. Services start at 11.
