Tillatoba News
By Patcie Deck
A big congratulations to Blake Sides and John Adam Robinson on their marriage Saturday, September 27. I wish you both many years of love and happiness.
Beverly and Walter McBride of Marietta, Ga., were at homecoming at Tillatoba Baptist Church Sunday. Also attending were Rich and Jennifer Ross, Margaret Jean Ross, and Erik Bailey.
Martha Box was sick Sunday with rigorous chills. She thought she had a touch of food poisoning, but now it is looking more like a tough respiratory virus. She hopes to be up and going again soon and reported there was a great revival Friday night at Pope Willow Springs Assembly of God with Bro. Pooler preaching. Martha, I hope you are feeling a lot better soon!
Allison Dukes, granddaughter of Tommy and Deborah McCool, and her boyfriend came to visit Saturday from Alabama. She asked her Pappaw to make her some of his stew, so they made a pot full. Allison ate two big bowls and took another bowl back home. Everyone had a great visit. While they were here, Tommy and Deborah found out some great news – they are going to be great-grandparents in May! She is expecting! That’s wonderful news, Debbie. You will never be the same.
Waylon and Holly Dukes, along with J.R. Dukes and Ashlee Julian, attended the Ole Miss–LSU game in Oxford Saturday and had a great time.
Diane Dukes was sick for over a week with diverticulitis. She had taken her two great-granddaughters, Jo Pullen and Haven Rose Dukes, to the movies and, of course, you’ve got to have popcorn while watching a movie. But Diane says she will never eat popcorn again.
Correction from last week’s birthdays: Bobby Joe McClanahan celebrated on the 27th, not the 26th. I was giving him a head start.
Happy birthday to Lynn Hoop Marceleno and Jessie Williams, who celebrate on October 1. Happy birthday to J.L. Crawford and Kathryn Bickerstaff, who celebrate on the 2nd. Happy birthday to Kim Beavers on the 4th. Laura Moorman, Billy Wayne Anderson, and Mitch Anderson celebrate on the 5th. Jason Pettit and Bill Ashmoor will celebrate on the 6th, and Taylor Hames, my sweet great-nephew, will celebrate on the 7th. Happy birthday to Ginger Patton and Summer Procella, who celebrate on the 8th.
Happy anniversary to Ginger and Phil Harrison, who celebrate on October 3.
Thought for the day: Not all storms come to disrupt your life; some come to clear your path.
