WATER VALLEY – The 17th annual Water Valley Art Crawl will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 4. An after party will be from 9 to 11 p.m. at Lamar Block (the old Magnolia Furniture Company Building), with live music from Arnie Brenn. Both events are free and open to the public.
The art crawl features come-and-go tours of studios, galleries, and private homes, where artists from Water Valley and surrounding areas will show works ranging from oils and watercolors to cut-paper collages and wire sculptures. This year’s route runs along Main Street, up Blackmur Drive to Courthouse Commons, and up and around Panola, Leland, and Dupuy streets.
Artist sites on the tour include Mari Foster at the Blue Melon Rendezvous; Hannah McCormick at the Odd Fellow’s Lodge; Zoran Crnkovic at Lamar Block (old Magnolia Furniture Company building); Laura Shields at BankFirst Community Room; Hannah Parrish at Violet Valley; Kate Donovan at her studio above the B.T.C. Old-Fashioned Grocery; Maggie Hill at Gigi’s Flowers and Gifts; Jonathan Kent Adams at his studio in Courthouse Commons; Greta Koshenina and Adam Smith at T.I.N.; Megan Kingery Patton at Dial Back Sound; Jacki Kellum at her studio on Main Street; Bill Warren and Patti D’Amico featuring Katrina Geenen at their home studio on Panola Street; Bradley Gordon at Joe and Kathryn York’s house on Panola Street; Ruth Hogue, Macon Humphries, and Pannawat Thamutok at the Grapefruit House on Leland Street; and Bree Welch at Brandon and Katelyn Presley’s house on Dupuy Street.
Bozarts Gallery, owned by Annette Trefzer and Mickey Howley, is celebrating its 15th anniversary on Main Street in Water Valley this year. Their featured artists for the art crawl will include Teresa DiMelola, Hanne Gaycken, Thomas Grosskopf, Stacey Monteleone, Allison Movitz, and Dane Noonan.
Courthouse Café and Mulberry Lane Resale Shoppe will be open during the art crawl, while Magnolia Coffee Company and the Pizza Place will be open with live music.
Printed maps will be available at the Blue Melon Rendezvous, Bozarts Gallery, and Water Valley Main Street Association office at 207 Main Street, where visitors can also see paintings from art crawl participants. Each site along the crawl will be identified with signs and lights.
The Water Valley Art Crawl and after party are sponsored by the Water Valley Main Street Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for our residents and creating an inviting space for tourists.
