Tillatoba News
By Patcie Deck
Festus, Ruth, Jane and Amanda Hailey visited Peggy Bailey at the nursing home in Charleston Saturday afternoon. Peggy was doing okay; they reported.
Daughter Donna Garripoli visited with us Sunday.
The beautiful decorated Christmas tree in the gazebo on the Square in Grenada was decorated by Tillatoba’s J.G. Henderson. J.G. left out over the weekend for a fabulous week of showroom designing for the 2026 market season! We are so proud of you and pray for you to have a safe trip.
“My word, it is Monday again? Do any of you 59-and-holding friends feel like some wanna-be in control has found a ‘speed-up-the-world’ switch? Well, I do,” said Martha Box.
“It is still a beautiful ride. At least the ride through all these God-created colors of fall. Wow, brings out the praises from this used-to-be artist wannabe!”
Martha said there is no real new news this week. She enjoyed lunch at Grenada Lake a couple of times, adding it is a great place to visit between shopping and business stops. Lunch at the Corner was also exceptional on Friday.
“Best flavored fried catfish ever, and those veggies are scrumptious!” Martha added.
Martha also reported a wonderful service at Willow Springs Assembly of God Sunday.
“A real Spirit-led message and songs. And all those precious hugs I so love seeing my family and old friends. It was a great Sunday! After a real good nap, daughter Ginger came by and we shared our Sunday happenings,” Martha added.
Happy anniversary to Jason and Wendy Pettit, who celebrate their eighth on the 18th. Jason, get Wendy a beautiful personalized heart-shaped necklace that opens.
Happy 19th anniversary to Frank and Freda Weir. It says for the 19th anniversary to give something in brass. I think I heard Freda say she wanted brass knuckles, but Frank, you better not get that woman brass knuckles. Give her flowers in a brass vase.
Happy birthday to Ruby Smallwood on the 18th, Chris Nail and Sherry Sykes share a birthday on the 19th, and my firstborn granddaughter, Miranda Procella, is celebrating her birthday on the 21st. Also, Mary Leigh Holland Freeman and Cliff McCain celebrate their birthday on the 21st. I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating.
Thought for the day: I don’t mean to brag, but I put a puzzle together in one day — and the box said 2–4 years.
