YALOBUSHA — Authorities are investigating the death of 58-year-old Steven Cebuhar after his body was found around 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at his home on County Road 41 in the Point Pleasant community near Oakland, according to Yalobusha County Coroner Ronnie Stark.
Stark said Cebuhar had been deceased for several days when he was discovered, and authorities were called after a family member was unable to contact him. Cebuhar’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Jackson on Monday for an autopsy. The coroner anticipates that the autopsy results will be available later this week. The results are expected to help determine whether the death resulted from intentional actions by the individual or another party.
Citing the ongoing investigation, Yalobusha County Sheriff Jerimaine Gooch did not release details about the incident.
“We really need the results from the crime lab and from the autopsy before issuing a statement with details,” Gooch told the Herald. “Information released before then would be more speculative.”
