Inside The Blue And White

Hey, and welcome back to another week of Inside the Blue and White! I’m so glad you’re back reading this week’s news from the kids of Water Valley High School. It’s been a fun, but stressful, week for everyone.

Basketball tipped off this week starting with a game at Bruce. The girls won 53–32, and the boys won 77–59. Then on Thursday, the teams traveled to Myrtle. The girls locked in and earned another win, 58–50, with Tylisha Hall leading the team with 26 points. The boys came up short, and a final score was not available.

The Lady Devil Powerlifting team competed at the Regional Meet on Saturday and finished third overall, earning advancement to the North State competition. Individual results were as follows:

1st place: Lailah Harris, 2nd place: Charlie Golson, 2nd place: Trinity White, 2nd place: Zamayiah Kuykendall, 3rd place: Kaeleah Thomson, 3rd place: Rylee Tucker

Congratulations to all of our athletes on an outstanding performance, and best of luck at North State.

Water Valley High School proudly recognizes Mrs. Smith as Star Teacher of the Month and Ms. Chandler as Star Staff of the Month. We are thankful for their hard work, commitment and service to our school.

Dr. Vickie Person was honored with the Red Rose Award from the International Society of Key Women Educators, presented by the Beta Beta Chapter. This prestigious award recognizes women in education who serve in leadership roles. Dr. Person’s dedication and commitment to excellence in education make her a truly deserving recipient of this honor.

And that wraps it up for this week’s Inside the Blue and White! Thank you for reading, and I hope you all stayed warm over the weekend. There will be no school all week because of the snowstorm, so I’ll catch y’all the week after.
