Ruth, Jane, Festus and Amanda Hailey visited Peggy Bailey at the Charleston nursing home Sunday afternoon.
Bubba Tillman celebrated his birthday Saturday, Feb. 21. Dr. Joe Roberts and his wife, Patsy, treated him to supper at Country Catfish in Oakland. Patsy also made him a coconut cake to take home.
Congratulations to Johnadam and Blake Sides Robinson on the birth of their baby boy, John “Woods” Robinson. Woods was born Feb. 20 at 7:04 p.m., weighing seven pounds, 13 ounces and measuring 19 inches long. Welcoming him home is big sister, Jolee.
Debbie and Tommy McCool traveled to Cleveland Saturday to purchase new tires for Tommy’s truck, then continued on to Leland to visit Tommy’s two sisters. They returned home in time for church Sunday.
Faye Hartley reports they are continuing cleanup efforts following the recent ice storm. Daughter Kristie and friend Tyler Welch have been helping clear trees and limbs.
Freda Weir is recovering from shoulder surgery and has not yet begun therapy. She and Frank are also busy cleaning up storm debris.
Sunday afternoon, my daughter Donna came up from Grenada to check on us, along with our granddaughter Francesca and Brad Holliday. After their visit, David and I rested before driving up the road to see Waylon and Holly Dukes and their children, Haven Rose and Waylon Jr. It had been nearly a month since I had seen them due to illness in our families. Holly recently had four wisdom teeth removed.
Our friend Martha Box was under the weather for a few days last week, but with the help of Dr. Roberts and his nurses, along with her children and grandchildren, she is improving. She may not be moving quite as fast as she would like, but give her a few more days and that “superwoman cape” will be flying again. She gives God all the praise and glory.
Happy birthday this week to Sarah Williams on the 26th; Katherine Harris Brewer and Melissa Sturdivant on the 27th; and Sydney Champion on the 28th. We hope each of you has a wonderful day.
Melissa Sturdivant asks for prayers for her father, James Larry Hammons, who was taken to the emergency room in Grenada with severe chest pain. Please keep Mr. Hammons and his family in your prayers.
Thought for the day: Remember that Winnie the Pooh wore a crop top with no pants, ate his favorite food and loved himself. So you can too!
