WATER VALLEY — A Yalobusha County man charged in a multi-count child sex case was sentenced to five years of reporting supervision and 10 years of non-reporting supervision after pleading guilty in Yalobusha County Circuit Court.
Calin Drane, now 22, pleaded guilty to charges stemming from his December 2023 arrest, according to court records. Under the negotiated plea agreement, Drane will not serve time in jail on the sexual battery conviction. The sentencing was held March 19 after Drane previously entered a guilty plea.
According to the sentencing order, Circuit Judge Jimmy McClure accepted the negotiated plea and adjudicated Drane guilty of sexual battery involving a child under the age of 14. Drane was represented by attorney Jason Campbell. The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney Marvell Gordon.
As part of the sentence, Drane was ordered to comply with standard conditions of supervision, including no contact with the victim, payment of court costs, and a $100 payment to the Crime Victim Compensation Fund. Additional financial obligations include a $1,000 human trafficking fund assessment.
In a separate order filed the same day, the court granted the State’s motion to remand Counts 2 and 3 of the indictment to the file as part of the plea agreement.
Those counts included one charge of exploitation of a child and one charge of touching a child for lustful purposes.
The indictment, returned during the December 2025 grand jury term, alleged that the offenses involved a minor and occurred between March and May 2022, as well as an additional incident in December 2023.
Drane was originally arrested in December 2023 following an investigation by the Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department.
