Haven Rose Dukes and Scottie Little graduated from kindergarten Friday night at North Delta School in Batesville.
Joanna Pullen graduated from K4 kindergarten, and her father, Sam Pullen, will also graduate May 22. Sam recently passed his boards and will become a nurse practitioner. He will be working at the clinic in Charleston for Tallahatchie General Hospital.
Faye Hartley is proud of her three grandchildren, who made all A’s for the year. They also earned highest honors in history, writing and math, while McLendon earned the all-A’s AR award. Congratulations to all of them.
Christian love and sympathy are extended to the family of Henry Pullen of Scobey. Henry passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his residence. Graveside services were held Friday, May 15, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Rickey Harris and the Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiating.
Diane Dukes, grandmother of Junior Dukes, said she knows there will be plenty of celebrating at the Dukes home May 22 for his birthday.
“This week went by so fast, I still am lagging in the past,” said Martha Box.
Homecoming was held Sunday at Willow Springs Assembly of God.
“Bro. Tommy Darby gave an exceptional history of the church from the start until now and followed that with the Word and need of salvation. And my Dave Box and Nick Snyder singing sure stirred up the Spirit in us all,” Martha added.
A great service was followed by a wonderful fellowship meal. Martha said it was good to see friends, cousins and loved ones enjoying time together.
Debbie McCool said she and Tommy have stayed home the last couple of weekends while enjoying pictures on Facebook of their beautiful great-granddaughter, Lily, shared by Allison and grandmother Angela Dukes. Angela traveled out last Sunday and stayed a week for the birth before returning home and back to work Monday.
Angela, I know it must have been hard to leave that precious granddaughter. I imagine a few tears were shed on the drive home.
Happy belated birthday wishes go out to a sweet, smart, talented and pretty 4-year-old little girl who celebrated with a big party on the 15th.
Happy birthday wishes also go to Junior Dukes and Marilyn Barton on May 22, Lisa Chambers and Caleb Franklin on May 23, Mary Hill on May 25, Jessie Anna Robinson on May 26 and Bob Bailey on May 27. I pray you all have a blessed and happy day.
Thought for the day: “I don’t know why we have to give money to countries who hate us. They should be able to hate us for free.”
