I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day. We had a great week, though really busy. Last week was graduation week. I still can’t believe Emily is finished with high school and is off to college. Time has really flown by. We had a graduation potluck Sunday after church for her. I want to thank everyone that came to celebrate such a huge moment in her life. I’m still in shock that my baby is grown. We had family come in from Indiana for graduation. It was wonderful getting to see them.
Bro. Grant Coffey brought a great message Sunday morning from John 17:21-26. If you knew you only had a few hours left to live, what would you pray for? We get to see a prayer from Jesus. Before His blood was spilled, Jesus prayed for us. He desired for us to be with Him in heaven.
Jesus sees the reward for His sacrifice in us. He loves us and died for us. He didn’t want to leave us behind. The cross was Jesus’ rescue for us. He willingly went to the cross so that we would not be separated from Him. In John 6:37, Jesus makes a promise that He will not abandon us. He will not reject anyone that comes to Him for salvation. Our place in heaven is secure. The King of all kings’ desire is for us to be with Him in heaven. His love for us is what kept Him on the cross.
We were thrilled to welcome Baleigh Camp and Mattie Jean Johnson into our Mt. Liberty family. Next Sunday will be our monthly music night. We would love for you to join us. If you’re looking for a home church, we welcome you to join us. Services begin at 11.
