COFFEEVILLE – The Yalobusha Historical Society will host its June meeting at 2 p.m. on June 18 at its headquarters, located at 14656 Depot St. in Coffeeville.
The featured speaker will be Rick Jenkins, whose family moved to Yalobusha County in the early 1830s.
A native of Water Valley, Jenkins is a graduate of Water Valley High School and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He worked in design and project engineering for three different companies before returning to the area from Hernando with his wife of 33 years, Deana Davis Jenkins. The couple has three children.
Jenkins has been a historical reenactor since 1984, portraying both Confederate and Union soldiers. He has appeared in numerous documentaries and films, including the television miniseries North and South and the movie Gettysburg.
The meeting is open to the public. There is no admission charge, and refreshments will be provided.
