Happy anniversary to Linda and Edmond Wilkes on July 28. I pray you have many more happy years together.
J.R. Dukes started a new job at Northeast Mississippi Electric Power Association July 13. J.R. is a GIS/mapping engineer for the company.
Our special visitors for the week were Brad, Frankie, and Bradley Holliday and our daughter, Donna. The Hollidays just came back from their vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida, for the week. Bradley got to take a friend with him, Ryder Millwood. Bradley said they had so much fun and they were not ready to come home. Bradley will be having surgery this week, so please keep him in your prayers, my prayer warriors!
“Just Flip It” is a trampoline park in Oxford that has wall-to-wall trampolines. Waylon and Holly Dukes took Haven Rose and Waylon Jr. Friday and Saturday.
I asked Haven Rose if she was excited about starting the first grade and she said, “No, Grandmother. I’m nervous. I don’t know anything.”
I don’t have much news, Jacque Chambers reports. Just that Jenny Chambers and her daughter, Arica Box, are still bruised from the vehicle crash. Arica got her staples out Wednesday, but they are taking it day by day. They appreciate the prayers, and some members from Willow Springs Church bought them supper several nights. I know they were very thankful for that wonderful food. I hear they have some great cooks at Willow Springs Church.
Milton Harper fell in his den last Monday and, after visiting the Grenada and Oxford emergency rooms, he is at UMMC in Jackson receiving therapy for a fractured pelvis.
The plan is to bring him back closer to home to Tallahatchie General Hospital for more therapy on Tuesday. I sure hope so because I miss him, said his sweet wife. I have a sciatica nerve problem and can’t go down there.
Sunday was Tommy McCool’s birthday. Debbie said they had a big home-cooked dinner for him Saturday night and, on his birthday Sunday, they cooked on the grill for him, accompanied by their kids and grandkids. In other words, they ate some good meals for two days celebrating Tommy’s birthday.
Ginger Harrison said they are like everyone else, over here sweating through the summer. Their son Josh has been selling a few of the local Cypress Creek watermelons in his spare time. They sure are sweet and crisp! Their son, Jake, is coming home this weekend and they are all excited about that! Ginger, y’all better save that boy one of those watermelons. They are the best I have ever eaten, crisp, sweet and with not many seeds.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Bro. Mike Ramage on the 23rd, Martha Box, Sandra Anderson, Patti Ramage and Ernie Holliday on the 24th. Sadie Harper celebrates on the 26th, Malenda Meacham and Savannah Nobles on the 27th, Kenny Parker on the 28th, and Chris McCool and my sweet husband, David Deck, celebrate on the 29th. I hope you all have a great time celebrating your special day!
Thought for the day: “I pulled out a nose hair last night to see if it hurt. Judging by how fast my husband woke up screaming, it seemed pretty painful.”
