McMinn Earns National Land Specialist Designation

WATER VALLEY, Miss. — Lee McMinn, broker and owner of McMinn Realty, has earned the Accredited Land Consultant designation from the REALTORS® Land Institute, the nation’s leading professional organization for land real estate specialists.
The ALC is the only land-specific professional designation backed by the National Association of REALTORS®. It recognizes land professionals who have completed rigorous advanced education, passed a comprehensive examination and demonstrated a substantial record of successful land transactions.
Candidates must also submit a detailed professional portfolio, obtain recommendations from current ALC designees and receive approval from both the ALC Accreditation Committee and the REALTORS® Land Institute Board of Directors.
“This designation represents much more than completing a course,” McMinn said. “It reflects years of experience working with land, continued professional education and a commitment to helping property owners make informed decisions. Land is often one of a family’s most important assets, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our clients and communities with an even greater level of knowledge.”
A longtime North Central Mississippi real estate professional, McMinn is also a landowner and tree farmer. His background includes service as a Yalobusha County supervisor, ownership of several local businesses and leadership in community and economic-development organizations. He founded McMinn Realty in 2023 to serve Water Valley, Oxford and surrounding communities.
The ALC curriculum encompasses land brokerage, investment analysis, transitional land, agricultural and recreational property, subdivision development, site selection, tax-deferred exchanges and real estate mapping. Designees must maintain membership in good standing with both the REALTORS® Land Institute and the National Association of REALTORS®.
McMinn said the knowledge and national professional network associated with the designation will strengthen McMinn Realty’s ability to represent buyers and sellers of timberland, agricultural property, recreational acreage, development land and other rural real estate.
