Hello everyone. I pray everyone had a good week and you found yourself in the Lord’s favor.
The message Bro. Grant Coffey brought us this week was titled “Stamped for Glory.” Our Bible verse of focus was Ephesians 1:11-14. In this section of Scripture, Paul is writing to a group of people in Ephesus. In his letter, Paul tells the Ephesians that they have obtained an inheritance. God has made this inheritance available to everyone. And He sent us the Holy Spirit as a deposit on that inheritance.
Life is difficult. It is a battleground, not a playground. We often wonder where God is in the hard times. In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul shows us something better and reminds us of what is to come. The trials of this life are temporary. Our future is an inheritance sealed and stamped with God’s royal seal. That inheritance gives us full redemption from our sins; it brings us into God’s family; heaven is now our home. Our inheritance is guaranteed through the Holy Spirit, sealed by God, and proves His ownership of all believers in Christ. We are God’s. We bear His mark. Satan cannot break this seal that God has placed on our souls.
Our special music this week was “Arms of Love,” sung by Opal and myself, with Opal playing accompaniment on the keyboard. It speaks of how God keeps us safe and warm in our daily trials and the storms of life. We simply need to learn to lean on God, and He will see us safely through to the other side.

Hello readers, thank you for reading and following the buzz in the Mt. Liberty community hive. Let’s take a minute and talk about this heat. It’s been happening since mid-July all through August and now, we’re into the latter part of September. I thought it was worth mentioning that Mississippi contributed to a NOAA report, confirming 2026 has been the hottest on record in the contiguous U.S.
Well, Ole Miss won against LSU. Reports said Airbnbs, hotels, motels, cottages and bed and breakfasts were booked at five to 10 times normal rates. Reports stated that it was more expensive to be in Oxford this week than in Dubai. An estimated 400,000 people were in Oxford over the weekend. There were no cars available to rent in all of North Mississippi and prices skyrocketed. For example, an Airbnb on a normal weekend cost $1,200 while this weekend it cost $4,000.
Bennie Joe Neal, aka “Aunt Sis,” and her riding friend Nell Wilson visited with Gary and Anne from Hernando from Friday until after lunch Sunday.
Sunday, September 27, marks the end of our third quarter, which means we will be partaking of the Lord’s Supper during morning worship services. Then, Sunday evening we will have our quarterly business meeting at 5, followed by Music Night at 6 p.m. Feel free to join us as we make a joyful noise to the Lord.
Garrett Coffey brought his guitar this week and joined us on stage. We have missed having him, Cody and Noah with us.
Noah brought his girlfriend, Kaitlyn, to church Sunday morning. She is visiting for a short while before traveling back to New Braunfels, Texas.
It was wonderful to see Chuck and Kim Arbuckle back this week. Chuck has been working out of town and they have been dearly missed.
Cody Person is in off the road and we’re all very glad. However, he is having an issue with a cracked filling and is in a lot of pain. Ryan made it in off the road. I guess his company, Mid-South Communication, will work in all temps.
Grant has to be done with the new Higher Learning Center in Oxford by June. It’s located at the old hospital by the parking garage and it’s huge.
Continue prayers for Coy Anna’s hernia surgery in October.
Anne went to the ladies’ conference at Sylva Rena. She said it was very good and she really enjoyed it. I am so sorry I couldn’t make it. My invitation was special to me. You know who you are and I love you.
My biggest event of the week was last Sunday. As I headed to a certain location to pick up someone, I noticed what looked like a parked car with nobody inside. About the time I got even with it, the occupants pulled out. I had no time to react. It was a boom. Both husband and wife said they never saw me. They were the kindest people.
State Farm marked Grant’s pretty new truck as a total loss. However, I am thankful, and it’s such a blessing to crawl out with two scratches, one airbag burn and four bruises. The passengers in the other car had one goose egg. Their car was likely totaled as well. State Farm, as always, has been wonderful, kind and helpful all the way up to corporate.
I end the week with more gratitude than I started with, a little more understanding of someone’s final minutes, a heart that is content and people in my life that are pure love. I have been blessed with a church family that is my family. I raise my hand and bow my head. There’s more to life than just what you can SEE. We are back in the Days of Noah. Pick a side, take a stand. The believers are waiting on the return of our Savior.
