Diane Dukes reported that Cossar State Park had 20 people show up for “Pingo” at their last game in September. Ping Pong was there to call the numbers. It was a fun time for everyone.
Please mark your calendar. They will have bingo again Oct. 21. There will be lots of gifts to win. Remember, you must be 55 or older.
Also, on Oct. 31, they will have their Fall Festival.
Haven Rose Dukes and Joanna Pullen spent the weekend with their Kuka (great-grandmother), Diane Dukes. She really enjoyed having them. She took them to Cossar Park, where they played putt-putt golf and watched the geese. Those two really enjoyed playing outside.
Martha Box reported, “What a week!” Cowboy brother Ronnie Wortham was here and catching up. Overeating out has put a few pounds on the hips, not in the pockets! Sister Joyce, brother Jesse and Martha really enjoyed the visit with Ronnie.
Martha got up Sunday morning thinking she would stay home and worship. LOL, some angel spoke to me to get up and go, so go I did! And what a special pastor appreciation it was. Brother Tommy and Sister Sherry Darby have been at Willow Springs Assembly Church of God in Christ for 43 years.
Special thanks to Dave and Donna Box and Bro. Webb for an exceptional service performance in the dark, as there was no power. Many special moments and healings of souls and bodies brought back so many memories.
Candy is here visiting now. Brothers and sister are on the way for supper at my place now!
Jacque and Adam Chambers took Jenny Lou Chambers to the new restaurant in Grenada, Olly’s, for her birthday, which was Sept. 24. They went Saturday night. Their food was delicious. They had a wonderful waitress and homemade caramel cake.
Celebrating their anniversary Oct. 3 are Ginger and Phil Harrison. I hope you both have a wonderful time celebrating your anniversary!
Happy one-year anniversary to Blake Robinson and Johnadam Robinson on Sept. 27. May you have many more happy years together.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Lynn Hoop Marceleno and Jessie Williams on Oct. 1; J.L. Crawford and my sweet great-niece, Kathryn Bickerstaff, on Oct. 2; Kim Beavers on Oct. 4; Laura Moorman, Summer Procella, Billy Wayne Anderson and Mitch Anderson on Oct. 5; Jason Pettit and Bill Ashmore on Oct. 6; and Taylor Hames, my sweet great-nephew, on Oct. 7.
I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating!
Tommy and Debbie McCool went to homecoming at Tillatoba Baptist Church Sunday and reported it was really good. There was great music, and it was nice hearing someone play the piano for a change. The preacher, Bro. Glidewell, preached a good sermon.
They didn’t stay to eat, but when they carried our food in, as always, there was lots of great food there.
Your writer and David’s company Sunday were Brad, Frankie and Bradley Holliday and Donna Garripoli, all of Grenada.
Thought for the day: “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I wouldn’t have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.’”
