Ice Skates Needed By Thespians

WATER VALLEY – Ice skates are needed by Water Valley High School Drama Club members.

No, they aren’t expecting a big freeze, said Drama Club Sponsor Debra Anderson. The skates, one man’s pair and one lady’s pair, are needed for the upcoming production of “Almost, Maine.”

The play by John Cariani is not a farce or a fairy tale, according to Anderson. “It is the story of what happens to real people who are normally very sensible, but who have become excited by love and other extraordinary occurrences.”

“Almost, Maine” is one of the most produced plays in the country, widely praised for its smart, funny take on life and love in a small, mythical town in Maine.

The performance will take place on Thursday, March 3 at the Water Valley Civic Auditorium at 7 p.m.

Students performing in the show include: Jesse Anderson, Morgan Way, Autumn Mooney, Sydney Nelson, Michael Phillips, Tommy Lipscomb, Emily Rone, Brittany Hodge, Cassandra Shawk, Christian Stone, Jillian Harris, Danny Smith, Zach Moore, Timothy Perkins, Daimion Pollard, Treshon Calahan, Kreniece Reid, Nikita Wilson, Devyn McCormick, and Amber Mooney.

Many more students are involved in the technical side of the production including: Audrey Jones, Holly Bounds, Elizabeth Davis, Victoria Hopper, Ashley Isaacs, Tyler Kang, Lorin Moser, Kristie Nelson, Matthew Fillmore, Turmarro Smith, and Jasmine Redmond.

Anyone with ice skates to donate or lend may contact Anderson at WVHS.
