WATER VALLEY – Do you make a dessert everyone raves about? Has anyone ever asked you to share your special, mouth-watering barbecue sauce recipe?
How about a delicious side dish you always take to an outdoor barbecue, family reunion, or church picnic? Or, maybe you’ve created an original watermelon dish that your friends are begging to try?
If you answered YES to ANY of these questions, the Watermelon Carnival Train Tracks Pork Attack organizers are looking for YOU !
There are four judged categories included in the contest that do not require on-site cooking! Can you see yourself winning the Best Dessert at 9 a.m., Best Sauce at 1 p.m., Best Side at 2 p.m. or Best Anything Watermelon at 3 p.m.?
If so, the barbecue contest organizers would love to sign you up, present you with a winning trophy, and a monetary prize of $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. You can prepare your dish at home and bring it to the Chamber of Commerce tent, located at the back door of Renasant Bank at least 15 minutes prior to the judging of your category.
All you need to do to enter any of these four categories…..and earn some real, honest-to-goodness bragging rights is call or email BBQ Contest Chairman Tonya Ward Eubanks at 662-609-7370 or tonyaeubanks @att.net by noon on Tuesday, August 2.
There is a $20 fee for each entry, and you may enter as many categories as you like. You may also enter multiple dishes in the same category. There are no age requirements: All ages are invited and welcome to participate.
