Saturday, Aug. 27
A gospel singing is scheduled at Clear Springs Baptist Church August 27, beginning at 7 p.m. The guest group this month will be Unity 4 from Iuka. The church is located at the corner of Gum’s Crossing Road and CR 186, just outside Coffeeville. A love offering will be taken and refreshments will be served.

The Mt. Moriah District choir will have a rehearsal August 27, beginning at 3 p.m. Minister Calvin Hawkins, choir director, is asking all church choirs of the district to come and be a part of the Mt. Moriah District Choir.
”Let’s put the love of Christ Jesus into action that men may see the light that shines bright,” concluded Hawkins. Pastor George Forrest is president and Minister Lennell is vice president of the choir.
August 28-31
Sylva Rena Baptist Church will have fall revival services August 28-31. Sunday services will be held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., with Bro. Kirk Kay, associate pastor/student minister at First Baptist Church bringing the messages. On Monday, beginning at 7 p.m., Bro. Chip Gresham, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence, will be the speaker. Bro. Darrell Logan of Bruce will be the visiting speaker on Tuesday, with the service beginning at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m., Bro. Truman Scarborough, pastor of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Grenada, will close out the revival services. Music at all services will be led by Bro. Erik Fearing, minister of music, at Water Valley First Baptist Church. For more information, contact the church office at 473-4447. A love offering for the revival team will be received Monday-Wednesday.
Sunday, Aug. 28
The church family at Jumpers Chapel Congregational Metho-dist Church will hold their annual homecoming service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 28. After a time of praise and worship those in attendance will retire to the fellowship hall for a luncheon and time of fellowship. Those interested in the Jumpers Chapel CM Cemetery may attend the annual business meeting with the cemetery committee around 1:30 for reports on financial and maintenance.
“We invite all those with family or friends associated with Jumpers to come and enjoy this time of worship with us,” stated Joel Jones, pastor.

The Trailsmen Quartet will sing at Tillatoba Baptist Church Sunday, August 28, beginning at 6 p.m. There will be a watermelon fellowship to follow, so, if you like good singing and good watermelon, please join members of the church for this event.
Wednesday, Aug. 31
AWANA Club registration will be held Wednesday, August 31, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Classes will begin September 7 at 5:40 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, located at 603 North Main Street.
Sunday, Sept. 11
The church family at United M.B. Church will have their pastor installation service for their newly elected pastor, Rev. Calvin Hawkins, on Sunday, September 11, beginning at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Sammy Townes of Spring Hill North M.B. Church. He will be accompanied by his church family. Everyone is invited to attend.
