Restaurant Cited For Loud Music

WATER VALLEY – A local restaurant was cited for disturbing the peace Friday night after the police department fielded multiple complaints about loud music. Water Valley Police Chief Mike King reported the citation was issued to Justin Showah, owner of the Crawdad Hole.  King said his department initially responded on Wednesday and Thursday, giving owner Showah several verbal warning before issuing the misdemeanor citation.

King said the action taken by his officers stemmed from multiple complaints from different people who live near the restaurant. “They told us that they could not get any rest,” King told the Herald.

A court date has been set for Sept. 29.

According to the department’s case log report from Sept. 1 -12, other calls fielded by city officers have also been minor.  James Connell was charged with theft of utilities, a misdemeanor. According to the incident report, Connell was staying at 1003 Greer Drive and turned the utilities on. Connell was also served with additional warrants he already had pending.

A 22 caliber rifle was reported stolen from a residence on Stephens Street on Sept. 7. According to the case report, the owner identified multiple people staying at the home when the rifle went missing.

On Sept. 1, a resident on 704 Wagner Street reported items including three rings, a pair of earrings and 40 pills of hydrocodone were stolen. The case remains under investigation.
