Author Shares Work With Town And Country Garden Club
The Town and Country Garden Club met at the Presbyterian Church Education Building for their October dinner meeting. Zandra Walker led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag followed by the blessing of the meal.
Retired botanist at the University of Mississippi, Dr. Ed Croom presented a slide presentation of photographs appearing in his recently published book, “The Land of Rowan Oak” which documents changes in plants and landscapes during the past decade that he has visited the home.
“Now that Oxford is growing so rapidly, the home and its surrounding woods are a place of quiet contemplation,” observed Croom.
Living near the Faulkner property, Croom would photograph early morning scenes as the seasons progressed.
Members Dreva Dickey, Margaret Daum, Bonnie Cox and Teresia Edgar fashioned floral arrangements designed in the classic Hgarth curve tradition.
