Governor Lifts Burn Ban That Included Yalobusha County And Majority Of The State

Governor Phil Bryant on Friday, Dec. 2, signed a proclamation to lift the partial state level burn ban that had been in force since October 11, according to Yalobusha County Emergency Director Frank Hyde.

According to the Mississippi Forestry Com-mission (MFC) news release, that agency requested the Governor’s ban to be lifted due to the amount of precipitation received throughout the area covered by the partial state level burn ban.

Also the extended weather forecast predicted the continued probability of significant rainfall.

The forestry commission asks residents to please continue to use care when engaging in outdoor burning activities.
