IAmBeauty Hosts Easter Egg Hunt At Baker Street Park

Keke Campbell is a young woman with a big idea. As a girl growing up in Water Valley she was keenly aware of the lack of activities for kids. She knew that young folks without guidance have a hard time finding their way.

KeKe was lucky, she always knew exactly what she wanted to do when she grew up. Hair! She earned her cosmetology license in 2013, started her career in Water Valley and then moved to Kosciusko.

Her big smile, confident personality, talent as a successful hair designer, and her bold approach to fashion attracted a group of girls and young women who had time available and not much to fill it. She decided to mentor the girls—who she calls her Jewels—in the same way she’d been mentored by Terry Rockette and his Youth Vineyard in her younger years.

Keke started IAmBeauty three years ago in Kosciusko, working with local young women with the goal of enhancing their self-esteem and providing learning opportunities through community service. She moved back to Water Valley in January and brought her IAmBeauty program with her.

IAmBeauty is sponsoring the Easter Egg Boil Gameday for kids 12 and under at the Baker Street Park this Saturday, April 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Up first will be an Easter egg hunt, followed by a variety of contests: Easter Egg toss,  hula hoop, hopscotch, and sack races, as well as face painting, and an arts/crafts table sponsored by the Water Valley Arts Council.

Prizes and candy and free hot dog for the kids!

Please bring your children to enjoy this IAmBeauty community spirit event! If you have questions or would like to participate in future IAmBeauty events, please contact Keke Campbell at 662 714-0354.
