Jill Smith, Director of the Union County Heritage Museum in New Albany, will present a program about fossils at the Visitor Education Center (VEC) on Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m. Smith will talk about finding and collecting fossils in Union County and the best ways to preserve collected specimens. Participants will have the opportunity to see some of these fossils and join in a question-and-answer session with Smith.
The program is free with the price of admission. Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60. For additional information, call the VEC at (662) 563-8068.
The VEC is part of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
