WATER VALLEY – A local community observance of the National Day of Prayer will be held at noon on Thursday, May 4, at the flagpole in the Crawford Sports Complex at Water Valley. The 2017 theme is: For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us…Forgive Us…Heal Us!
Taken from Daniel 9:19, which says, O Lord Listen! O Lord Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God…”.
Several local ministers and vocalists will lead in prayer and singing and everyone is encouraged to join them. Participants include Harold Spraberry, Phillip Brackett, Allen McGraw, Cleveland Alexander, Randy Bain, Shane Crawford, Calvin Haw-kins, James West and Betty Hart. In case of rain, this observance will be held in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church. “Please plan to join your fellow citizens as we pray for our nation, our president and other elected officials, our military, our schools, the challenges facing our nation, and our churches,” says Barron Caulfield, NDP Committee member.
