Hart Wins Another Term As Mayor

WATER VALLEY – Two term incumbent Larry Hart has won another term as mayor after leading the Democratic Primary Runoff Election Tuesday by 66 votes over Terry Rockette. Hart received 488 votes in the contest and Rockette earned 422 votes, according to unofficial election results Tuesday night.

The city’s election commissioners have 18 affidavit votes to validate Wednesday before the election results are certified.

Rockette received more votes in Ward 2, 127 to 60, but Hart led the other three wards. In Ward One, Hart had 161 votes and Rockette had 107. In Ward Three, Hart received 124 votes and Rockette received 101 votes. In Ward Four, Hart received 143 votes and Rockette had 87 votes.
