One-Night Show At Bozarts Features Work From Longtime Blues Advocate

Dick Waterman’s rare photos include iconic shots of many musicians including Ray Charles, B.B. King and Mick Jagger. His work will be on display and available for purchase Friday night at Bozarts.

Bozarts Gallery and the Jewish Federation of Oxford team up to show Through the Years: Music Legends by Dick Waterman.

Agent, manager, producer, promoter, Dick Waterman is the only person inducted into The Blues Hall of Fame  who was neither a performing artist nor a record company executive. He established himself in the Blues community as a diligent advocate for the artists and the art of Blues. Waterman is primarily known today as an archivist and photographer of Blues, Country, Rock and Jazz legends from Mississippi John Hurt to Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton.

His commitment to documenting the Blues  and Blues-influenced artists with whom he worked and crossed paths throughout the years is legendary.

The one-night show is scheduled at Bozarts Gallery, located at 403 Main Street, on Friday, Feb. 23, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Waterman’s rare photos will be on display and for sale, light hors d’oeurvres will be served. He will be present at the reception and speak about his photographs.
