WATER VALLEY – Varner Printing & Office Supply has been selected by the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of the Business Spotlight Award. On Wednesday, May 16, the chamber presented a certificate to the Varner family, an honor that also marks two decades of serving the community’s office supply needs.
Jim and Judy Varner moved to the area in February 1998 to take care of Jim’s aging parents. With longtime family roots in the area, they decided to open a printing, copying and office supply business in Water Valley. They first opened the business at 101 South Main Street. With hard work and much luck, they quickly outgrew that location. In February, 1999, their son, Chad Varner, came to work for the company and they moved to 419 N. Main Street where the business continued to grow.
On July 23, 2002, they again expanded the business by purchasing an adjacent building at 417 N. Main Street from “Snooky” and Mary Lou Williams. This move allowed them to expand the office supply, copy and fax service offerings of the business while the printing and production operations of the business remained in the 419 Main St. location.
“We have been very blessed, we have enjoyed 20 years of continued growth and we have developed some great friendships and relationships with most of the citizens, government offices, local businesses and financial institutions,” Jim Varner said. “We are honored to continue to serve our hometown and the surrounding areas of Oxford, Batesville and Grenada. We are proud to be a part of Water Valley, and we are very appreciative of the support, friendship, kindness and love that we have been shown for the last 20 years.”
“Our number one goal has been to provide our customers with state-of-the-art technology and to provide quality printing, copying and office supplies at affordable prices,” Judy Varner added.
“We are proud to say that we are from Water Valley, home of some of the best people we know,” the couple added.
In honor of this Business Spotlight award, the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a P1-DHV handheld Canon printing calculator, purchased from Varner Printing & Office Supply, to be awarded to the person whose name is drawn at noon on Friday, June 1. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this drawing, and you have “10 days and two ways” to sign up between May 23 and noon on June 1.
You may stop by Varner’s any time during regular business hours to register OR sign up on the CHAMBER’s FaceBook page.
