WATER VALLEY – Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies rounded up five drug suspects in Water Valley and other areas of the county last Thursday morning. The suspects had been indicted by a grand jury in the Second Judicial District in Water Valley earlier in the month.

The suspects ranged in age from 67 year-old to 23, according to a press release from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN).

“The arrests culminate a six-month investigation led by the MBN, with assistance from Water Valley Police Department and Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Office, MBN Director John Dowdy reported in a press release.

The suspects and their charges are:

James Pomlee, 67, sale of cocaine and conspiracy to sell cocaine;

Savannah Cheyanne Simpson, 23, sale of and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine;

Mark Neely, 32, three counts of sale of cocaine;

Orlando Hall, 33, three counts of sale of cocaine;

Brandon Busby, 31, manufacture of marijuana.

Sheriff Lance Humphreys reported that MBN agents along with Water Valley police officers and county deputies split into multiple teams around 8:30 a.m. that morning in an effort to make the arrests simultaneously.

“One of the suspects tried to flee on foot but deputy Aquairus Phillips was a little faster,” the sheriff reported.
