Ribbon Cutting For Valley STEAM Works Is Friday

A ribbon cutting and open house is scheduled at Valley Steam Works, a new learning center in Water Valley, is scheduled Friday, June 1, with the Chamber of Commerce cutting the ribbon at 2 p.m. The open house runs from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the center, located at 112 South Main Street (old Crawford Building office).

Friday will also kick off an exciting summer with a variety of summer camps for area youth scheduled in June and July. 

During the camps, participants will spend a week (Monday-Friday) engaged in fun activities that will get their imagination flowing. Camps are full day (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) and the cost is $175 per week. Sibling and membership discounts are available. Camps are offered for upcoming first grade through upcoming sixth graders.

The camp schedule starts with Agent Headquarters, June 11-15, where participants will learn all about spies and detectives; Crazy Cool Chemistry, June 25-29, which promises a week full of wild experiments and crazy chemical reactions; BAM, POW, BOOM, WOW, July 9-13, where participants will experience a week of super-power fun as they create their own characters; and Loco Motion, July 23-27, as the group spends an exciting week investigating forces and motion.
