Monthly Meeting For Order Of The Eastern Star Is June 12
The Water Valley Chapter No. 5 Order of the Eastern Star will have their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 12, beginning with a Pot Luck Supper at the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Gospel Music Jubilee Planned At Gore Springs Community Center
A Gospel Music Jubilee will be held in the Gore Springs Community Center June 9, beginning at 6 p.m. Admission will be $5. The program will feature: The Pounders; Kinsmen; and Heavenly Journey. There will be a concession stand with cheeseburgers, hamburgers, sausage dogs, hot dogs, popcorn, coffee, drinks, and desserts.
Planning Is Underway For 45 Year Reunion For Class Of 1973
May will mark the 45th year since graduation for the Water Valley High School Class of 1973. To celebrate, planning has started for a class reunion scheduled to coincide with the annual Watermelon Carnival on Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4.

Funds Needed For Upkeep At Camp Ground Cemetery
Funds are needed for the upkeep of Camp Ground Cemetery. The cost to maintain the cemetery is approximately $2,800 per year. Donations are needed to help with this effort. Contributions can be made at any branch of Mechanics Bank, or sent to Patsy Francis at 703 Wagner St., Water Valley, MS 38965.
School Board Sets Meeting Date
The Water Valley School Board of Trustees have scheduled a school board meeting on Monday, June 11th in the central office at 6:30. The public is invited to attend.
Planning For Art Crawl Is On The Agenda At Arts Council Meeting
The Water Valley Arts Council will be having it’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 12th at 6:30 p.m. at the Water Valley Main Street office, 207 N Main Street. Topics for discussion include the 10th annual Water Valley Art Crawl – artists or folks who would like to participate or volunteer in the event and more.

Bobby Hood Band Will Take The Stage At VFW Dance
The regular Saturday Night Dance on June 9 begins at 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight. Providing the music will be the Bobby Hood Band, and there is a $10 cover charge. The doors open at 6. The dance will be held in VFW Post 4100’s Home, located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley. Everyone is invited to attend.

Valley City Lodge No. 402 will have their stated Communication on Thursday, June 7, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Drive. All members are hereby reminded that the meeting time will be 7:30 p.m. during Daylight Savings Time. Please make an effort to attend and support your local lodge.
